to hsot a game on warcraft you go to custom games then create game find the map and choose a name and you cant host if you have a firewall or a router

indeed, even if you have norton firewall 2005, and you do a program scan, and add wc3 to it. i would still recomend you disable it. because even though it might seem your firewall is working fine, it'll still block about 70% of the people that try to join your games.
i have tested and proven this! so just disable anything you have.

i don't know what firewall you have.
if you are using your windows firewall, just go to the properties of your connections and go to advanced and disable the firewall there.
if you have norton, right click on the icon in the bottom right and disable it.

For those of you that have a firewall and/or a router, you don't have to disable your firewall and you can still host with a router.
If you know how to adjust your internet settings, just open these ports for access.
6112-6119 4000
These are the two ports that both Blizzard and other users on b.net connect through you to when trying to host a map. Whether or not you have a firewall or router doesn't matter when these ports are open. I have both a firewall and router, and I can host maps fine.
Just a little random info to help all of you out that have problems hosting with a router/firewall.

Look in the manual for your modem or router. There should be some info on it.

there should be a way to set it to ANY.
If not, just open the ports on one of them, and do it again and open it for the other.
the ports need to be opened for both options.
