I had the same problem a while ago - i simple plug my computer directly into the modem, instead of router. then i opened those ports in my firewall and i host fine.. .allthough my connection is too slow to host something like DBZTU, I can still host my favorite genre - Tower Defence... but it should work... try that if anything. I dont know how to do it to my router... So I didn't

Uh yeah, if you host and no one joins...
Either:
You lost your connection to B.Net You have a firewall or You have a router
(or sumthing similar.. or something totaly random that I have no clue about....)
For firewalls, you can either disable, or some may be changeable to allow bnet to work... (try going to b.nets help section, thats how I got around my router..)
Routers of course, go to bnet and see what the help section says...

still nothing? jumping into old converstaion.. but do you have a router firewall or both? PM me the details I can look around..
a point to make though I have a router... and i had to open those ports as well but whats wierd is I do this my accessing an internal webpage (where i edit setting for my router)
but if I play a game, to then host i have to exit b.net and re-save settings.. dont know why [quick though]

lol i have a firewall on when i host games, it keeps ppl from attacking me and getting my ip, i'm into the movie releasing world of internet, so getting attacked is quite a problem for me, but i can easily play and host games, just get a GOOD firewall, i have sygate personal firewall pro, and i ahve a seperate virusscanner, read up on google, and find out why ppl hate combined programs i'll give you a small hint already. THEY SUCK!!!

nuke, you should open a "range" of ports, check warcraft game settings and site for wich port range it uses to host and let ppl access your computer, if you have a router, you have to go to a special ip mostly: 192.0.0.1 or something like it, it's an INTERNAL ip, an ip only used in your network, so other ppl can't use that ip and connect to your router.
also if you did the configuring, things will work great, but a firewall should always be set to NOT check any packages that go out of your computer, only the ones coming in, the going out is only good for businesses that have business secrets, and stuff, to advanced for ppl like us, and anyways it just makes lag.
so PLZ ppl turn off checking of outgoing packages in your firewall, also i recommend a seperate firewall from your virus scan, when your comp gets infected with virus atleast firewall still works.

indeed, even if you have norton firewall 2005, and you do a program scan, and add wc3 to it. i would still recomend you disable it. because even though it might seem your firewall is working fine, it'll still block about 70% of the people that try to join your games. i have tested and proven this! so just disable anything you have. thanks now i no why i cant host games
