Remember, I'm Atheist. See...I believe that all human "soul" is the brain. The brain is the center of life for a human, nothing spiritual. People look to religions and "heaven" and "hell" and "reincarnation" and such as something to relieve the pain of that, one day, you're going to die. I believe that death is the complete shutdown of the brain, the person suspended in a eternal nothing for the remainder of eternity. No sight, no sound, no memory, no sense of anything, a depressing abyss of nothingness from which there is no escape. This has led me to believe that the meaning of life is to -live-, not to kill or to protect or anything else, simply to live and survive. Me? I would personally do anything to at the least preserve my brain to where I would not have to suffer death, the thought scares the shit out of me. I don't care if I'd have to sacrifice my "humanity" or if religions called me "Evil" or "Against the will of god". It's a depressing and scarey thought..I wish there was a way to avoid something as horrible as that place. I just needed to get this out of me, I guess, which is why I posted it here. Anyhow...Later.

Well you have 2 choices: a) Live on a cloud playing a harp FOR ALL ETERNITY!! b) Be unconcious forever Here's some stuff to think about too: It's a fact that you can survive with half a brain. Some people have been known to lose half their brain due to shotgun wounds to the head. But are still able to live a normal life with almost all their intelligence and memory intact. So if this is a fact, then what if someone successfully separated your brain into 2 halves. Would your conciousness split? It's hard to imagine but yer... Just some stuff to undepress your thoughts , as I'm guessing your a teenager and it's normal for most people to think that way. I used to as well, but you tend to forget about that stuff when your older.

Me,... I suppose I believe in the supernatural. The Jesus/Mary painting has me wondering. Saw it on the discovery channel I think where it was crying tears and at one point blood? They couldn't explain it even after removing the paintings from the walls and stuff. On one of them education channels.
I think that way sometimes, that you'll just spending eternity in nothingness, but I try to put my faith into believing there's more to life after death. You never know. A lot of wacky stories about people having out of body experiences or having memories of past lives. It could all be made up but who really knows.

People often tend to believe religious stuff, just find -something- to believe.
My problem is I'm too logical but can't comprehend absolute nothingness.
And I'm not really a teen, I'm just immature. =P
I turn 20 on the 21st.
Everyone has to find something to believe in or else just live in constant fear of death. I fear death because I don't know what lies past that point, not because of death itself. Only way to find out if there is life after death is to actually die..I'm gonna post a link on the Link section to a page that has some very intresting points about death, mortality, and immortality. If you're intrested in the discussion and are mature enough to comprehend it, I suggest reading it, it's very intresting.

I Believe that a soul is your sub concious mind.
I believe that people put their faith into a certain religion because they believe that it will save them from eternal darkness when they eventually die. Others who have nothing they can believe in, fear death because they have nothing to hide from it. In other words Im my opinion if you believe that something will save you, you are running from life and death itself.
I myself am not a religous person. I do not believe there is a god or a devil.

Cyrogenics is a joke, read any real case against it.
What it does is freeze your body. What about bodily functions? What about protein breakdown? Once your proteins breakdown, your body simply becomes mush once thawed. The only way to escape death is to simply not die, but it is inevitable, so freezing a corpse is utterly pointless.

You haven't read Remanants. It tells tons of ways to get proteins through the body, and how to slow the brain and bodily functions to a near complete stop. However, it doesn't always work, and the result is that you shutdown too far and rot.

yes teenagers seem to think their life is going nowhere once in a lifetime. and also worry about death. personally, i've gotten over that. about god, i don't care, that bastard has never done anything good for me in my life, i don't know if he exists, or care. so fuck him. and about the afterlife, i just think you should forget that. don't be like other people that worry too much about the afterlife that they can't even live this one right! Gotenks... you say the weirdest stuff

Whoa, I never knew you people were so.....Depressing. I mean you shouldn't worry about whats after life and enjoy what you have in life right now. Whats the point of worrying about dying? You know its going to happen whether you try to prevent it or not. Knowing death is invetible helps people to live their lives to the fullest extent. I say why not just live your life rather then live with death. Man it took me a while to think about what to describe you guys as .
