Weird how ideas just come to you eh? Anywho, basically to keep it in-line with the show a bit more, why not make it so certain attacks by certain people do extra damage to a villain or npc? For instance Gohan's kamehameha does extra dmg to Cell and vica versa? Or Goku's Dragonfist does extra dmg to Shenron? Or Vegeta's Final Flash does extra dmg to Cell? Or extra damage against an enemy if two people are fighting side by side (like Gohan and Goku against Cell or something). You get the idea The dmg would have to be percenage based upon each characters levels to make it fair, and not do ridiculous amounts, just a little more. Again I'm not sure if this an be done, or if it's too complicated. Just an idea to chuck around

I think the way your placing that idea is dumb for 2 reasons 1 It would make it hugely to easy to kill an enemy if the bonus is to strong , making it completely unfair 2 If its a small bonus it means nothing most games and become a waste of Data slowing down the game. But it does make you think, if you can figuare a way to even it out it would make the people in the game work together which Gotenkz said he wants, so yeah I hink it could work if point in the right way.

Its sort of like training in the H.B.T.C with the proper partner (goku and gohan, vegeta and ftrunks) in the older versions for extra stats. Does that still happen in v8?
